I open the .Jar file in winrar and delete the META-INF folder and place the mods and modloader in there but whenever i launch minecraft i go back in to the .jar and all the added files are missing and META-INF is back. i have tried this many times and it keeps happening. this is the first time i have attempted to mod this .jar file at all.
ok well its not like the old one. all you need to do is download the forge needed for the version u have. But instead you get the auto installer here is the page http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge/index_legacy.html and find the one that is your version in promotions section and click the installer button. then open it up on your desktop then click install. then go on your launcher and change your profile to forge and press play.
ok then run minecraft and then x it out and install forge again. If for some reason you cant take out your saves folder and put it somewhere safe and delete your .minecraft and then run the minecraft launcher again and use 1.6.4 and click play and once it loaded up x out and try to install forge again
Whenever i launch Minecraft it undoes any changes i have done in the .jar file.
