So, I have my minecraft(with forge installed[and a few mods]) and, I run it, it makes it to the menu and freezes, then crashes. I look into the development console, and it says that out of memory error. So I run minecraft this time with my activity monitor, and it says minecraft is only using about 900mb of ram. Yet, my minecraft has 6gigs of ram allocated. Is there some sort of false trigger or something?(I'm using Mac btw)

Another weird thing is, in the Forge console file thing, it only says "Stopping!", no error or anything. So I have no clue what this is.
I'm fairly sure your problem is that you've allocated WAY too much RAM based on your usage. Try Allocating 1 1/4 of a gig (1280mb) and see if the problem still occurs.

I tried 2, it still crashed. Although, it showed it in the console.
you can also try allocating PermGen memory, help a lot with modded Minecraft as Permission ram by default is typically too low for certain mods to operate.
