Ok so my brother and I play hexxit together i started a server and we were playing for a good 1 week until he couldnt join it said internal server error. I run the server on LAN. I looked all around for the solution. However its just that one world other work. Is there anyway to fix this without making new world?? Anyone please really want to play with my brother again! Thank You!
I am having the same problem. I played on LAN with my brother, but it seems that there was an update a few days ago that is preventing us from playing on LAN.
I was in almost the exact same situation as you whilst playing with my brother. After tons of detective work, we figured out a fix--at least for ourselves.
Note:
Doing this will remove any warp doors or rifts you've opened/created.
Try going into the world-you-were-playing-on's save folder and deleting the folder "DimensionalDoors." Then delete the files "DimensionalDoorsData," and "DimensionalDoorsDataOld." It's recommended that you back these files up beforehand, but give it a try, it might work.
Afterwards, just launch the game, load your wold, open the LAN server, and see if your friend/brother can join.
If that does work, be really careful with rifts in the future and only use them when necessary. If it doesn't work, you could try clicking the settings toggle (cog) on the technic launcher and setting the version back to 1.4. I doubt that'll work, but it's worth a try; otherwise, I've got nothin'.
p.s. This will not break the DimensionalDoors mod, it only resets it. If you don't really use the DD mod, you could alternatively just disable the mod altogether.

Thanks so much for this post! This solved my problem too
(We've been playing Hexxit via the Technic Launcher, with a first client running a saved world on the local drive and a second client connecting multiplayer over the LAN using Open to LAN from the first client and multiplayer Direct Connect from the second client. This setup allowed us to share the world for a couple of weeks, but then the first client started crashing when the second client would attempt to connect. We tried creating a new world and could share the new one, but we couldn't share the original world - deleting the Dimensional Doors folder and files solved the crashing problem.)

I'm glad I was able to share my success! Have fun.
