I recently started using magic launcher again and it will not play my mods. I will add the mods in the setup and everything says "OK" but when I try to play, minecraft does not have any of the mods installed and none of them appear on the minecraft start menu. I have magic launcher 1.2.5 and Forge in it along with a few other mods. And I am attempting to play minecraft 1.6.2. Any ideas?
Sure, I just thought magic launcher would be easier since I'm new to installing mods manually. Lately I've just been using modpacks like FTB. Could you also tell me how to use mods not compatible with 1.7.4? I know magic gave you the option to use older versions compatible with mods that haven't updated. Thanks!
Oh right well that's easy. Just install minecraft forge from http://files.minecraftforge.net/ (grab the installer) which will then create a profile in the new MC 1.6.x+ launcher. Open that once, close it and navigate to "C:\Users\NAME HERE\Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft" with out the quotation marks. To do this enable hidden folders in folder option or open run and type "%appdata%" without quotations and in .minecraft there should be a folder called mods. Any mods you download drop them in there and you're done.
