I have recently been getting Lag spikes every few seconds. I have not done anything to modify my pc and the only mod I have installed is Optifine. This happens when I am not recording and when I am. I have no Idea what could have caused this. Please help!
Example: I am at 30 fps, cruising along then all of a sudden my fps goes down to 5 and then goes back up to 30-40.
I too am having the same situation. I have Optifine downloaded and I updated the latest lwjgl. I have my auto save to 30 minutes. Most of the time, I have a little over 30 FPS, and I am using 1gb memory as my computer only has 2gb I used to not have a problem with minecraft but recently I just get the lag every few seconds. Hopefully someone could help?
I have a issue similar to the one you have. My issue is that whenever you turn, you get a lot of lag spikes and low FPS. It really stinks, I had to restart my whole computer to factory settings to actually play Minecraft. It was not fun. But I don't think that's the issue your having. I think you might just have a slow computer or too many mods installed. That might be the problem. Also, you should try Optifine(the mod) to try to fix this lag problem. If you get optifine and it does not work, you need to have certain settings for the mod to help your lag problems. I feel you! I can't play minecraft until 1.6 which might fix a bug or something like that. I hope you get your minecraft to work with you. Because mine isn't! Oh and also your computer might be slow. You might have installed too many things. So, also if you have the chance, you might want to go into your Programs and Features and install some unwanted programs that are taking up space on your computer. Hope I made sense and helped a little bit at least! Good luck. Oh and one last thing. If you look up on google/youtube or your desired search engine,"minecraft: how to get rid of lag" I'm sure a boat load of results will come up; some useful, they might help your problem. Haha this is getting really long but I want to tell you ways to maybe help your minecraft lag issues. Well, good luck.
I had a similar issue in 1.5.2, but I had several mods installed and every few seconds, the game would freeze for a second or so. Updating lwjgl pretty much cleared it up. Great fix.

Retired StaffAlright, I will try doing that. Hopefully it will work :\
I updated and it didn't fix anything. It also made it so I couldn't move and place blocks at the same time.. :\
Ok, I will try that. Thanks
When i turn it off it gets rid of the lag spikes, but it lowers my fps to around 20..
