I know this will sound oddly weird but I downloaded the Mod Pack called MediPack, it (supposed to) include ThaumCraft, Tale of KingDoms, Bibliocraft, and more..
But when I loaded the client and opened a new world, non of the new items were there, nor were NPCs or Generated Buildings.
I downloaded the ModPack to the Technic Launcher. Hope that helps..
(I tried looking for help at Technic, but found nothing.
Same here. Any news on the problem? Looks like the mods installed to the proper folder. It is like when starting through the launcher, minecraft isn't connected to this modpack.
Great news for everyone who has this problem, I found a solution! Ok first you need to download this.. http://toxicspoon.in...raft1.5.1.2.zip ... This is from the tekkit page not mine so you can even go there and download it, aka the manual link. OK something didn't sit right with me and I wanted to find why it didn't work.. so I did! I do Not know much about coding, but the file that creates this error is Minecraft.jar--THAT'S THE PROBLEM-- Go to the bottom of this post to get rid of the annoying pop up that asks you every time if you want to update.
Ok here's the steps:
1. Open Technic Launcher and add the URL that gives you problems for the mod page
2. Run this mod pack till it opens (into the browser with no mods)
3. Ok close the Medicraft browser
4. Take that .Zip file I had you download and copy the files into the tekkit folder for Medicraft
5. Close the zip file and tekkit folder (do not delete them)
6. Now go back and run that mod pack that gave you problems
7. It will ask you if you want to update THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!! DO NOT UPDATE OR IT WILL NOT WORK
8. It will run everything and congratulations it works.. sort of there is one issue I came across so far and I have been playing it for the last 10 minutes. The weapons keeper sells nothing--not sure if fluke or purposely--you have the option to buy nothing from him, this WILL crash your game. Sorry to all of you wanting to play, but couldn't just discovered the mod, I can server this though if there is anyone out there who likes to co-op or multiplayer it that's sole purpose isn't to be an a-hole.
P.S. these are the steps I took and it worked, you can take shortcuts if you want, but I can't guarantee it working.
Goodbye updater pop up!
Way A or B works (B is much shorter in steps..)
Skip steps 1-3 if you did steps above
1. Open Technic Launcher and add the URL that gives you problems for the mod page
2. Run this mod pack till it opens (into the browser with no mods)
3. Ok close the Medicraft browser 4. Take that .Zip file I had you download and copy the files into the tekkit folder for Medicraft
4. Now open the created folder to the bin folder
C:\Users\(The user your currently in)\AppData\Roaming\.technic\modpacks\medicraft\bin
Or open run browser and type %appdata% and find .technic folder
5.Open .zip file to bin (link above and below..) http://toxicspoon.in...raft1.5.1.2.zip
6. Take the .Zip minecraft.jar and drag it into the bin of the modpack folder Technic launcher uses It will ask if you want to replace the the current one and hit yes. Final Step
7. Close all the files don't mess with anything else and run the modpack like you would normally. There, you should not have to deal with that pesky updater everytime you want to play plus it will work with the mods instead of giving you a vanilla minecraft. Now I do ask that you please post any errors on this comment as a reply, I have no affiliation with minecraft or the creator of any of these mods, but I have done no testing yet besides running it through the launcher. As far as I know the weapons keeper/smith at the fort is still glitched and I will be looking for the fix where I will post it here.
Way B Only works if Technic already created the mod pack folder!
In short this is the steps above..
1. Download this file--This is the bin folder that is updated and works with the mods-- https://www.mediafir...5lsmkvfu81b/bin
2. Go to the bin folder Technic created and replace it with this one
Related to this... I've been trying simply to download the .zip file for Medicraft, straight from toxicspoon.info. Everytime, I get an unexpected end of archive error; I'll get anywhere from 18-22mb of the 61mb it's supposed to be, then it craps out. Is the original file on toxicspoon now corrupt? I've disabled antivirus... not sure if I should even keep trying to get this particular pack, even though it looks like just what I want.
Any ideas? Or does anyone have a clean copy of the whole file?
