I have a 64 bit Windows 7, but if i try to run anything mniecraft on a 64 bit java nothing works they just close on me leaving a file on my desktop. BUT if i use 32 bit it runs fine. And also when i download JRE 7 to my computer it gives me this (when i look it up on my programs and files in my control panel)
also from looking on the jre website 32 bit java isn't listed anymore.
how are you telling minecraft to use the 64 bit version of java over the 32 bit version?
minecraft chooses 32bit as default as all systems use 32 bit atleast, not all computers are capable of 64bit, so it needs to be told.
