So I'm using the forge installer for 1.5.2 and I get this message:
These libraries failed to download. Try again.
org.scala-lang:scala-libary:2.10.0-custom, net.sourceforge.argo:argo:3.2-small, org.ow2.asm:asm:4.1-all,org.bouncycastle:bcprov-jdk15on:148, com.google.guava:guava:14.0-rc3, net.minecraftforge_temp.legacy:legacyfixer:1.0
Ok so I manually installed the libraries and now I get this error:
These libraries failed to download. Try again.
org.scala-lang:scala-libary:2.10.0-custom, net.sourceforge.argo:argo:3.2-small, org.ow2.asm:asm:4.1-all, net.minecraftforge_temp.legacy:legacyfixer:1.0
Also will these libraries work for later versions because I also want to be able to run 1.6.4 forge
my fix is for 1.5.2, as they made some changes to 1.6.2 and thus broke the 1.5.2 files locations.
if your getting the error in 1.6.2 can you post the whole error log please
What i'm asking for help with is for 1.5.2, I was just wondering if I would have to change stuff around to play 1.6.2 and beyond, and if so what changes I would have to make.
1.6.2 has an auto installer, and it shouldn't have the issue listed in the op, and you should always use a fresh jar/profile when moving to a new version, using old folders can lead to the risk of accidently leaving in an old mod or something which can cause a crash
if it does have a can't download error either the forge servers are having an issue, or your computer is blocking the files somehow.

I am using the auto installer they have now made for 1.5.2, you know i also had problems with downloading files in minecraft when I was trying to reinstall mine craft a few days ago.

maybe you can tell me how to manually install forge with the new launcher?
