Before the update that changed the loader came out I had some mods installed, then when the update came out I tried playing again and suddenly whenever I looked left or right it would lag horribly. i have absolutely no idea how this happened and I've asked everywhere and can't find an answer. Even Optifine doesn't work.

If you don't list the mods you have installed, we can't help you.

I deleted all the mods a while ago thinking that was the problem.

Is the problem still occuring?

yeah same problem is happening to me I have no idea of what is causing this its very irritating.

It may lag because the render distance you have set is far or normal(for some people) you can set the render distance from Options-->Video Settings -->Top right corner you will ses render distance set to far,normal.short or tiny decrease it to see if the lag diseappears if it doesn't try setting the grapichs to fast.

sorry i'm kinda new to this, do you mean my computer specs? because I know I can run minecraft i was able to do it before this is a recent problem. :///Yeah, I tried that too and it made only a slight difference and its still basically unplayable.

Your specs are fine and more than enough to run the game smoothly. Make sure that all your programs (Java, etc.) are up to date.

I updated Java and it still nothing.

Are you running any heavy/demanding programs in the backround?

I don't think I am, but how would I check this?

Well I'm only using like 8% of my CPU right now

and the only thing im running right now is chrome

Im getting this problem too. Every time i look west, (only west) do i lag. This just started and i know its not my hardware.

16gb Corsair Vengance RAM
2x 2gb GDDR5 660ti SLI
240gb Solid State Drive
and some mid-high end motherboard from ASUS

I can run any game EXTREMELY smooth EXCEPT minecraft... And this is killing me considering that's what i use my pc most for.
