I'm playing minecraft through the Magic Launcher on 1.7.2 using no mods. During 1.6.4 I used Optifine and Better Sprint Mod, but they aren't enabled as of now. I can still play on servers, but when I try to join singleplayer on both versions, my MC crashes. I open the world, it loads, and I can see the clouds moving, and I can turn. However, the moment I try to move (button a, w, s, d) the window closes and en error message pops up. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
Lawrence
If you used mods on a world and then disabled the mods and tried to reload the world, you can damage or break your save. This is because the world is looking for gameplay mechanics or blocks/items that don't exist anymore. Most of the time you should be ok but some mods don't like to be removed like that. I'm assuming that as soon as you move, the world is looking for the sprint mod but since you don't have it, it crashes.
Try going back to 1.6.4 with the mods installed and then load the world. If it loads successfully and you can move fine, turn the mods off but stay on 1.6.4 then try loading again. If you're again successful, then you can transfer it to 1.7.2.
Also note that worlds transferred from 1.6.4 to 1.7.2 will have nasty ridges where you haven't explored yet due to the change in world generation.
Oops! My bad. I forgot to mention that it doesn't matter what save I'm playing on. If I try to create a new world and play on it, it does the same thing.

That means there's something left over in your minecraft directory that it's still trying to read.
Delete your entire minecraft directory from C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft (backing up any saves first) and let it download completely fresh files.
Thanks! I deleted it and it works now.
