My minecraft.jar folder only has the META-INF file in it. I only have 2 mods installed- X-ray mod and Sim-U-Kraft (unsuccessful). I also have forge. Minecraft and x-ray mod work flawlessly, and all of the other files were there when I finished installing the mods. I use Win 7 (32 bit). Can someone explain to me what has happened and how to fix it? Please help!!!

Are you putting the mods in the mods folder that forge makes? If there is something wrong with the jar, delete the version and re-download it with the launcher.
The problem is with my minecraft.jar files. The only thing in the minecraft.jar folder is the META-INF file and I can't find the others anywhere.
Ok in your ...\.minecraft\versions\ folder and delete the folder for the broken version. Now relaunch the version in the new launcher to download a new one.
If you are going to use forge you should not have to open the jar at all, be sure your installing mods this way:
Download and run the forge installer and install the client, then launch minecraft on the version forge creates.
There should now be a new folder in your ".minecraft" called "mods". Place the zip/jars for the mods in that folder.
When you reload the game they should work.
If there is still a problem it could just be that one of the mods is not compatible with the other mod. Also check if one of the mods goes in the "coremods" folder instead of the "mods" folder.
