As indicated in the title the amount of RAM my client is using increases quite rapidly to 4gb then crashes or freezes. If it freezes I am unable to end the javaw.exe process that is affected. (there are 2 javaw.exe processes when loaded)
Mods:
I don't have an allocated amount set for RAM and use the normal launcher and this has never happened, normally it runs just quite well. this happened after I got Universal electricity and all mods related to it so it could be that but then again Minecraft has had issues for me since 1.5.4. When I load up the screen to the single/multiplayer options it stops at about 600 MB, but when I load up singleplayer it increases and just keeps on going until it crashes or uses up 98% of the RAM, it's gradual and it reaches 2 GB in 30-60 seconds.
I've already tried creating a .bat file, I changed the Runtime Paramater to -XmX 2048M or w/e, and I uninstalled and reinstalled Java. (only installed the 64 bit version and I updated from 25 to 45)
Thanks in advanced for the help, hopefully this is a quick fix.
This is called a "memory leak" and is a problem with a mod. Annoyingly enough, the only way to find the source of the problem is to remove each new mod you've added until the problem disappears.
My solution would be to remove each add-on for Universal Electricity and run the client in a test world. If, after you've removed them all, remove UE. If the problem still persists then it must be another mod, although it is unlikely.
Just a forewarning: this will be a lengthy process if you really want to use UE, but if you can play without it I'd recommend just deleting all the UE mods and leaving it at that
As I suspected, no nukes for me until moreexplosions is updated to 1.6.4 I guess.

Contrary to popular belief...I am most certainly not a "Tree Puncher".
