I have a customized FTB Ultimate pack which I've since added a heap of mods onto it. Seemingly at random, the FPS will drop to virtually zero in certain chunks. Those chunks are pretty much random, and will clear on their own after some tme. This happens on at least 4 different computers that I know of; it seems to be a reaction to something from the server. Connection speed doesn't seem to be an issue, it's misbehaves regardless of if I'm playing on the server (12Gb of RAM i7), another PC locally (gigabit LAN), remotely (ADSL or 3G wireless internet).
I'm suspecting that there is some strange mod interaction that I don't understand causing a massive entity loop of some sort. None of the players have significant pipe/router setups (it's a very new world). I have noticed that sometimes you get a mass spawning of skeletons (sometimes literally falling out of the sky) leaving you with 50+ of them hanging around... which of course will burn when the sun comes up and generate even more entities when they die and drop their loot. Not sure if this is related, but often a lag chunk (as we've been calling them) will have a mass skeleton spawn nearby. As I can't travel through it to see if it's always the case, this is just speculation for now.
Here's my debug screen showing almost 7000 invisible entities (the i: part). I've seen it over 13000 and pinned at 0FPS.
I checked the server and a lag chunk does not have an impact on the tick timer (read off the GUI). Handling so many skeletons dying does absolutely peg it in the red for a short while, though.
There are no errors in the forge log (other than a GL error 1283 which appears unrelated - I can't find much info useful on that with google searches). There is no crash log, as it doesn't crash (I usually run away slowly or alt-F4 and come back later).
Here's my complete mod list - at 146 mods, it's not a small pack.
I've added to it: Meteors mod, KBI Tinkers Construct Recovery, StatusEffectHUD, DirectionHUD, ArmorStatusHUD, bspkrsCore, Coral-reef, Gregtech311, Project Red, Redstone in motion, BetterFurnaces 3.2, Jammy Furniture mod 4.4, Archimedes Ships 1.3.5, Better Archery, better dungeons, Mo'Creatures (with the custom mob spawner and GUI as required), DeathCounter, extrautils, MobAmputation/MobDisemberment, OpenBlocks1.0.2, traincraft4.0.2/003.
I have java 64bit 1.7.0/25. My graphics card is a nVidia GTX590 with the latest drivers.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas anyone has. I'd prefer to be pointed in the right direction to discover and solve it myself, but if you have a one-word or LMGTFY answer for me, I'm happy to just get it fixed.

I logged out in a "lag chunk", removed mods until the problem went away. Mo'Creatures went first - no change. Then Better Archery, it came good. Put Mo'Creatures back in, and it's still good so far. Have to play with it until I'm either happy it's solved, or it happens again and I can continue troubleshooting it.
Installed Life in the woods mod..after about a week..started getting 7k invisible mobs and 0fps..Uninstalled the better archery mod and so far..working like it should. Not much info about this issue on any forums, so hope this might help those who are having the same problem.
