I am attempting to install Minecraft Forge 1.6.2 through the installer. However, When I click install client, i get an error message saying "You need to run the version 1.6.2 manually at least once". I've attempted everything i can think of from making a new profile on the launcher, to launching Minecraft from the .Minecraft folder. I've had no luck. So any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm head admin on a modded server so i need to know the diagnosis ASAP. Thank you.

I used this step by step tutorial to get forge working in 1.6.2 here: just follow the instructions he gives step by step. Also, I had trouble getting optifine working alongside forge until I found this here: not sure if you need to use optifine, but I know I do, without it I can barely run minecraft.
