Sure, let me rephrase it. When I put my crosshairs over, let's say a dirt block, it the top center of my screen it will say 'Dirt'. I will get some pics.

This should be under modded soupport and you should list the mod pack. As far as i know that is not in vanilla minecraft.

It is. The mods do NOT support this at all.

Vanilla does not have this ability as such this is a mod issue.
Simple way to test this: play vanilla and see if you get this issue.

This function is part of NEI.

You can disable it by pressing the default NUMPAD 0 key.

The function is called "Highlight Tooltips".

To change the key go to the inventory screen, Options, Keybindings, World, Highlight Tooltips.

I had the same problem... I was changing keybindings for Minecraft and some of the other Mods and one of the keys I mapped was Numpad 0. Took me a while to figure it out...
