So I have 40 mods installed, it works very well on Windows but I got a black screen when I put it on a mac. I took the .minecraft folder located in username/appdata/roaming, renamed it "minecraft", and I put it in the username/library/application support folder. Is the anyway to fix the black screen?
Maybe running 40 mods is a little to much for your mac. If you want to try and fix it put one mod into the folder at a time and launch each time. Keep doing this until you find the black screen.

I tried it but I have a black screen even without any mods in the mods folder
Many mods aren't compatible with Mac users and require heavier installing. If you installed it the way the threads all said, and you took the time to do that for all 40 of your mods, I don't know what the problem is. But if not, go and make sure you've installed them correctly.
