My friend has a bad computer (I don't know what the specs are, but it is like 4 gb ram, intel core i5 possessor, that is all I remember (About 3 years old)) and my computer specs are 8 bg ram, intel core i7 (2.3 GHz), Gforce GT 630m 2 gb graphics card (3 month old). I get about 8-13 fps and my friend gets about 40-60 fps, how is this possible? I have given java priority and set the usable memory on the technich launcher to 5 gb and still does not work. Please don't just say "lower your settings" my computer should not be lagging this much and my friend has render distance set to max and I have mine set to normal. Also both of our computers are running 64 bit windows (I am on windows 8 and my friend is on windows 7), and yes we definitely have the 64 bit java.
Make sure your preferred graphics processor is the nVidia card. Right click on the desktop then select nVidia control panel. Click on Manage 3D Settings, then make sure the preferred graphics processor is the high-performance nVidia processor.

You are now my best friend (I am now getting about 100 fps)
