Would it be possible to have two .jars to switch out in minecraft, one up to snapshot date (so I can play my friend's server) and one at 1.6.2 with mods for singleplayer? Or would this just end up messing up my game?
Somewhere on your computer, make a new folder. Name it whatever you like. This will be the 1.6.2 modded folder.
Then go to the Launcher and click New Profile, and Name it whatever you want. Make sure you check the box next to Game Directory and enter the location of the folder you made.
Then click the Use Version dropdown and select "release 1.6.2"
Then play the game, so it makes all of the files in that folder.
Then you can replace the jar in that folder with the modded jar.
