It has to do with your Java version. You are currently using Java 1.7.
To downgrade to 1.6, Navigate in finder to /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines
There should be a folder called something like jdk1.7.0_07.jdk
Just delete that, and you're good to go. To make sure, go into terminal and type java -version. It should say 1.6

Mod Incompatibilities, If you want to know why minecraft crashes here is a tip: look where says "because it encountered a problem; [REASON]" if in [REASON] says "unexpected error" is because mods are making minecraft crash
Well what happened with me was that I installed Norton 360 and it removed ALL of my program files and games. When I redownloaded Java and minecraft, it didn't work. I updated java countless times just incase. But then I realized that I didn't have my program files of my graphic card/driver. So since mine is NVDIA, I went to their website and downloaded it, installed it and it fixed the error.
this same thing is happening to me. but my minecraft wont work at all. i tried to downgrade my java, but it didnt let me. the crash report and terminal both say i have 1.7, but the java website says i have 6. I tried to look in my library for the java folder, but there was no java folder in my library.

I had this problem on Minecraft Classic but not Normal Minecraft. I just downloaded JAWT Interface and replaced the old one and it worked. I hope this helped!

To downgrade to 1.6, Navigate in finder to /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines
There should be a folder called something like jdk1.7.0_07.jdk
Just delete that, and you're good to go. To make sure, go into terminal and type java -version. It should say 1.6
If you don't have mods... well... I don't know
