I've never played before 1.5.2, so I can't say for certain, but in general you have to make a copy of the version folder with a unique name/id in order for the launcher to not overwrite the jar.
You managed to decompile and continue without me giving source code? O_O Bro, you are a god. Of course do whatever the [REDACTED] you want!!!! Good luck on it

well how do i do that? it makes sense like switching the .jars before 1.6, but i just don't know how i would do it

Go to .minecraft/versions, copy 1.5.2 folder and rename it to Forge-1.5.2, then rename the jar and json file inside the same. Open the json file in notepad and change "id": "1.5.2" to "id": "Forge-1.5.2"
Then install forge/modloader (I highly recommend forge, lol. Almost all modloader mods work with it, but most forge mods don't work with modloader, so you get a better share) the normal way (Open the jar, delete meta-inf, copy contents of Forge or modloader to it). Then all you have to do is set your profile to use release Forge-1.5.2
You can replace Forge-1.5.2 with anything, as long as the folder, jar, json, and internal json id match.

wait what are you talking about? I know how to mod things but when I try to install a mod for minecraft 1.7.3 beta it doesn't work. Im using the new launcher to play 1.7.3 but I cant install too many items and single player commands.
