Any help? I need it! So I've uninstalled Java 7, Installed Java 6, UNINSTALLED JAVA 6, and re-installed it once more (both versions)! Can anyone help me out? I used to play Minecraft, all fine, good and wow. I Updated Java 6 to 7, and things went haywire. It said the same it says now. So I fixed it once, by messing around with Java, but now my efforts are useless. Everytime I install Java 6 i get the error in the topic. When i install Java 7 i get: "Error: Could Not Create Java Virtual Machine Error: A fatal exception has occured. Program will exit."
I'd really like some help before January 6th! Thank you and Happy New year!

Hey, look at 'dat! Boink! Woooo! Look at your head! HOME RUN!
This can usually be resolved by either using Magic Launcher (which i highly recommend) or if you want to make your own .bat file. If you want to make your own .bat file to fix it just follow the instructions here:
First download the .jar version of minecraft from here: https://s3.amazonaws...r/minecraft.jar
Make sure to save this in a folder on your C: drive called "Minecraft" you can place it wherever you want, but the rest of the instructions are assuming you have it placed there.
To make your own .bat file. Open a notepad and type the following:
For 64 bit OS and 64 bit installed Java:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx??m -Xms??m -jar "C:\Minecraft\minecraft.jar"
For 32/64bit OS and only default 32bit Java installed:
"C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx??m -Xms??m -jar "C:\Minecraft\minecraft.jar"
This is of course assuming you followed my instructions for placement of the minecraft.jar. if not simply change the path at the end to wherever your minecraft.jar is located. Once this is complete simply save the batch file as Minecraft.bat and place it in the same directory as the minecraft.jar. Double Click to open
For both of these examples replace the ??m with the amount of memory you want to allocate. For example if you want 512mb type 512m. For 32bit versions its not recomended to allocate more than 1024m. For 64bit I usually recommend 2G and you can just type 2g to replace ??m.
Also this is assuming you have the latest version of Java installed. If you want to use version 6 (which is up to you, personally I never have any problems playing MC with version 7) simply replace the "jre7" in that with jre6.
My theory as to why this happens is when you open Minecraft your computer doesnt have enough available memory to open it and that's why it can't create the virtual engine
Simply close every program you have open, anything that uses memory. Such as your internet browser or media player (i like to watch shows or listen to music while i play MC) and even jar files.
In my case closing those two programs was enough, the media player specifically used alot of memory.
If your computer just sucks and you never have enough memory or RAM look at the mods on the wiki or these forums for something that can make Minecraft use less memory/RAM since Minecraft is notorious for using lots of that.
OP EDIT YOUR POST AND TELL THEM TO MINIMIZE MEMORY USAGE; THAT IS THE SOLUTION!
Guys i know what the problem when i did open chrome it frezzed my computer said "computer stoped the program for reasons" what it that ? after i opened minecraft i know what happens? Could not create java machine it not the first time that thing happens to me i look like a bug when it say jre ect plugin DONT CLCIK EXCUTE THIS TIME DO UPDATE NOT EXECUTE NO NON O OR IT WILL BE LIKE ME
I had this problem once, and there is a very strange solution (if you haven't found one already). To start, pin minecraft to the taskbar so you can launch it easliy. When you try to open it, that dialogue box should pop up. Without even closing the dialogue box, open minecraft again. The same box should pop up. Just spam minecraft, and after about 2 dozen times, the game should open. Now just close all those dialogue boxes.
See I am having the same problem and everytime I try to start minecraft it says that Cannot create Java Virtual machine program will now exit. I have searched and tryed everything from uninstalling and reinstalling java and all this other stuff. And none of it works I can play Tekkit just fine just not minecraft or Feed the Beast. I really want to play on my friends regular Minecraft server but I cannot. Somebody please help me in some detail. I havent been able to play for like 4 months or longer. Please it would be greately appreciated.
Just unistal Java 7 and install java 6
Here is Java 6, make sure you get 32, or 64 bit based on what your computer runs. (Right click Computer, and click properties should tell you,)
No the most most most most easy way (not for persons that are impatient) IT TO THE TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND TURN IT ON =D THAT the freaking way to do this if it happen again do the same thing it does that if you download too much thigns like mods =D hope it work for you !!!

Sorry to say but 99.9 percent of Slender downloads out there have viruses. That may not be the case, but try a virus scan, I recommend Malware Bytes Anti-Malware
So, I found a rather idiotic solution. I just tested it several times and it works for me, but I have NO idea why. Just close all of your webpages and everything should work fine.
I usually just shut my PC down when it wasn't working and then opened it first thing because hey, maybe it just hasn't hit the error yet? Retarded logic, I know, but it seemed to work. Then, some times, it wouldn't work and then 45 minutes later BOOM! good and working. I found no rhyme or reason to this until I closed my browser to restart and hit MC by accident and, lo and behold, it opened. Then I opened my Chrome again, tried to open another MC and got the error, closed it and MC worked like a dream.
NO clue why this works, just seems to. Give it a shot and see if it works for you.
P.S. - I just copied this and then closed my browser and it worked, opened it, pasted this message and was greeted with a virtual machine error.
Hope this helps /:
EDIT: ... and now it's working with my browser open as long as I keep the original one open... what?
I found a fix for this. Go into your control panel and go to Java. Go to the security tab and change the Security Level from high to medium. And try to open the file again. Worked for me and hopefully it works for you. And yes, I'm using Java 7.

Jakester928 bro you like portal? I like portal. You like Minecraft? I like Minecraft. You like PlayStation 3? I like PlayStation 3.

ERROR: Could not create the java virtual machine.
ERROR: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
I've been playing minecraft for a year perfectly, I started it this morning and gave me this error in a dialouge box. I tried running it with a modded, a vanilla, and no .minecraft folder at all. Always gives me this error! Please help!
Was also running into this problem suddenly and tried everything everyone has posted here and elsewhere but nothing worked. On this machine I have Windows XP and most recent update to Java 7.
Here is what I did to finally fix it and end my torment:
Right click your minecraft.exe and click on properties --> click on middle tab called "Compatibility" --> check box "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 95"
