I tries using the installer thing, but that didn't work simply due to the fact that my computer isn't good enough. So how do you install Forge manually? Does it just go is the jar for the proper version?

I installed forge by using installer, will tell you how to do it properly and if it wont work - we may have to come up with harder way. First of you need to create a profile at 1.6 launcher and login at least once. After that download the forge installer from here : http://files.minecra...-9.10.1.849.jar and make sure you selected the right path to your minecraft directory, it must lead to 1.6 minecraft folder (not your old 1.5) and press install button. You may have both minecraft versions without a problem, newly created folder by 1.6 is named "Minecraft" not ".minecraft". If it didnt help, please let me know.

Should help. If it wont, please descrbe the part that is wrong specifically. Maybe there is a window that pops up and says something went wrong, or installer wont open at all, or installer sais it didn't find minecraft directory in chosen location.

there is a universal download you can download for 1.6 you need that jar it can be found here

the file downloaded will be called minecraftforge-universal-1.6.2-9.10.1.858 just look at the top of the page and youll see one that says latest and in blue letters there are bluew links for universal src and installer click the universal and get that one save it somewhere easy to get to like your desktop. once you get that access your .minecraft folder inside the folder you will see a folder called versions open that once there make a new folder lets call the folder forge. open that folder drop that forge jar into there and rename that downloaded universal forge.jar to forge as well. make sure you have that exact .jar.
then there is a second file you need here is the download for it

when you get that file put that inside the same folder as the forge jar file. next open your minecraft launcher and when it starts up in the bottom left youll see a profiles button click that and select your new forge profile! dont start minecraft just yet it should actually make you relog if it doesnt dont worry thats ok. next to it there is an edit profile button click that and youll get a new window in that window at the bottom youll see a box that says JVM tick that box and put this into there

-Xmx1G -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true

then you can close all your other folders and unwated things and everything exit out of the edit profile window. start up minecraft and have fun =)...

note: in the JVM the 1G stands for how much ram you want minecraft to run with . you can change it to 2G or 3G (likeme) or however.

what that means is you didnt get the proper forge. when u see the line minecraftforge-9.10.1.858.jar thats what its looking for. rename the jar file. and u can look into the file i gave u and at teh bottom there will be a line that tells it what file u want it to open
