here's how it works: in the great internet, every router has an IP, and address, if you will. any computer connected to the internet through this router has it's own private IP, like an apartment number. inside the router, IPs usually look like 192.168.number.number. that is your private IP. to be fair, my router has problems and I have never managed to port forward. do research, and google is your friend. that's al I can tell you, because thats all I know. :/

Well im using a console and i can only run it when im at home. but i went on my port and i set teh Private IP on the port to 192.168.2.3

do you have it port forwarded correctly, and is your firewall allowing content through it?
pick your make and model of the router you're using, then scroll down and choose 'minecraft server'.
