Now when I made this there was no mods file. Now there is. Is where the buildcraft file is suppose to go? Also I know I've done something right since I have made TMI 1.6.2, and Rei's mini map work. So I am at a loss. Also I saw a post not to install modloader but you need it for TMI..... So what do I do????
force update your minecraft, and the bin file is if you have played 1.5.2 or before, the new bin file is the versions file then go to your minecraft version you play on.

There is no .bin. I have minecraft launcher 1.1.3 theres no Force Update... also its 1.6.2...

The .bin's are the versions now. Just make sure to make copys of whatever versions file you change. Can anyone help me on how to install buildcraft??????
So yeah seems it's not ready for 1.6 yet..... Seems it never will be lol.. But I know it takes time.
well if you have forge, just drag your mod (.JAR or .ZIP) into the mods folder. THE MOST EASIEST WAY TO INSTALL FORGE is to download the forge installer and open it. when you open it, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, its going to the right place and click OK or INSTALL or idk i cant remember what it says... itll automatically generate a mods folder
How to Install BuildCraft Mod 3.7.1 for Minecraft 1.6.2
- Download the BuildCraft mod for minecraft 1.6.1
- Browse to %appdata%/roaming/.minecraft/bin and open your “mods” folder. If this folder does not exist, simply create the folder.
- Drag the entire downloaded mod zip file into your “mods” folder. (do not unzip)
- Finished.
So when I do this: Start>Run>%appdata%>.minecraft.... I get this:http://i601.photobuc...2/Minecraft.jpg
As you can see no .bin file. So then I was told to use the versions file and make a copy of it and all that junk and I did so this is what I got:
