I've been playing minecraft for years now and rarely ever had this happen, while mining or harvesting lumber, the blocks I destroy reappear and it takes like a few seconds to finally break and drop the intended item.
This doesn't happen on my friend's server[normal, tekkit, or FTB] but rather in single player mode.
It's a bit frustrating to mine and suddenly the blocks reappear again. Not to mention I get odd inventory and interface lag in a mod packin FTB, the Direwolf20 one, and I'm not sure why I would be getting this type of lag in the game.
So any help would be appreciative.

Hi there!
This is a vanilla bug, caused by the poor merging job of SMP and SSP (SSP Creates and Internal Server now.) So, in short, All of the SMP bugs can now be experience in SSP as well. As far as a Solution, I don't know what to tell you besides cross your fingers, and hope they fix it.
dedicating more RAM and turning down render distance fixed it for me. Seems its like your hosting a server on your machine, and for it not to lag, you need it not to be overloaded
Seems its like your hosting a server on your machine,
EDIT: Just re-read your comment. It's not caused by lag. It's a Multiplayer bug, but because of how poorly Mojang merged SSP and SMP, it's located in Singleplayer, too.
