Hello, this post is about the jvm argument "-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true"
I believe it is one of the arguments used to jar mod in minecraft 1.6.2, the other being -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true. When i type them both in and jar mod, minecraft does this: Gave up trying to download s3.amasonaws/minecraft/blahblah/minecraftforge.jar
Help!
P.S Sorry about the small print, something when wrong
that argument is for use with forge, it remove's forge's iron hand with the jar modding. it has no use if you use the vanilla client, as the fml in -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true means forge mod loader. but, as for the error, it is normal if you have played minecraft with forge before, it gave up because it is already there. if you have just installed forge, check your internet connection. Remember, some mods require another arguement, that makes it ignore patch discrepancies, what mod are you trying to install? Did you install forge manually? rep if I helped.

Well, i was trying to install controlpack
No, i used the forge installer
What do you mean "It gave up because it is already there"? If it gave up because it is already there, it would ignore the error and let me play, not crash.
