To all of you people who think Notch is still working on the game, he stopped working on Minecraft in late 2011. Get your facts straight and stop spamming his twitter about Minecraft updates.
TMI doesn't work the greatest with forge, with forge you are better off using NEI (Not Enough Items), it also functions like recipie book, so you wouldn't need to install that either.
But then the people at tekkit spend ages getting them to play together...
It doesn't take much work to get a bunch of mods to work together. It's mostly just installing things in the proper order, and adjusting the config files to remove item conflicts. The forge API is a wonderful thing, that allows mods to play nicely with each other as long as the mod authors write the mod on the forge api.
