Whenever I go to play Minecraft after doing the whole step thing of installing Optifine, I got this error:

And if someone doesn't help me, I'll be stuck playing Minecraft for the rest of my miserable life in 4 FPS. So someone help.

Seconded, I get the same error. Anyone have a fix for this yet?

From the error report, it seems like you installed it wrong or your using an incorrect version, here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1583649-general-guide-to-installing-mods/ That should help!

optifine dosent increase fps, i had 30 fps, installed optifine, had 30 fps, just dont bother with it

Yes it does, it works for me since I've tried it before. Besides, this qualifies as spam.

It really depends on your setup, for it does - but you can turn fps 'improvements' if it doesn't work on your system and just use it for fancy stuff, like mipmaps

In all optifine is probably not currently compatible with forge, according to the laucher FML WILL NOT LAUNCH FOR YOUR SAFETY... whatever that means..

I have had this same problem. I am running on a Macbook Pro. I initially tried using the Magic Launcher but found that when I load the game after a few seconds it seems to freeze up, & any key press only registers about 10 seconds later. I wanted to try diagnose wether it was Optifine that was cuasing the problem or wether it was Magic Launcher, so I tried installing Optifine with out magic launcher & got this same error message.

Optifine is the only mod that I use. I don't have a solution sorry, but I'm intently searching for one!

I've managed to follow the tutorial(s) online on how to download mods with this crazy 1.6.2 deal rather closely, other than i'm installing Optifine. "Gave up trying to download https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.6.2+Optifine/1.6.2+Optifine.jar for job 'Version & Libraries'". Is it really just a Optifine thing or is my directory wiggidywack? *bump*

I'm really hoping that this gets fixed soon... I'm having the same problem and it's really annoying.
