Here's a guide to setting up a new local Minecraft version: http://www.punchwood...n-new-launcher/. Once you've followed those steps install the mod into the jar in the new folder and go into the Minecraft launcher and select new profile and where it asks for the version select the name you created for the new folder and select play.
