Hello! I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, but I have not been able to find an answer. Long story short I'm trying to figure out how to use MCPatcher *or Optifine* along with Forge so that I can use Rei's Minimap. Every way I try installing it, my Minecraft crashes. I'm thinking it has something to do with installing Forge and ModLoader? I'm not sure. Could someone please inform me of the proper way to install those mods, if possible? Basically I'd like to have Rei's Minimap, Optifine and MCPatcher. Can that work with 1.6.2? Thanks for any replies!
You do not need MCPatcher. forge allows HD texturepacks. You also do not need modloader. Optifine is also not needed and I dont think can be installed with forge.
