hi, I am trying to install optifine for 1.6.2
I tried following the guide on the site I downloaded the files from, (heres a link: http://www.6minecraft.net/optifine-hd-download/)
and I cant change the .zip file I have the mod files in into a .jar file. I am running a 64 bit version of windows 8. any suggestions?
I would advise against downloading mods from 3rd party "redistribution" sites. They normally tamper with the mod in some way.
You don't need to change .zip files to .jar files. You can open them with 7Zip or Winrar and drag the files that way.
for some reason I am not able to drag the files in via winrarso I had to change to extracting the files into a folder, adding the mod files, then sending them to a conpressed zip folderok, I fixed it. thanks! it actually worked. turns out I was just being an idiot
