I'm sure there are a few topics of this somewhere but I can't find any that can help me.
I've tried everything I can think of.
I tried this only to find that the final step doesn't work for me because I can't find the modified .jar version as shown here. Modifying the base 1.6.2 in the versions folder seems to have no effect whatsoever once I launch the game.
I am completely out of ideas and words can not describe how frustrated I am because something that use to feel trivial and simple to me is being such a pain in the ass.
I added optifine to 1.6.2. I don't know if that has anything to do with mods.
I can't get that to work, yes it does have to do with mods since Optifine is a mod.
How would I go about adding optifine?
I tried opening .minecraft\versions\1.6.2\1.6.2.jar using an archiver, deleting META-INF and extracting the optifine files into the .jar, however launching my game once it loads there's no sign of Optifine being there or any other mod I've tried like Rei's minimap or GL Shaders.
The issue I'm having with this procedure is the following: clicky
The edit version is not there. it just isn't.
It should be assuming you followed all the directions properly. Are you copying the 1.6.2 folder, then reaming it and it's files to the same thing, as well as editing file's text?
