I have a little brother who wants to install mods. I have done some research. And I do everything right.
I know some mods have certain ways to install. I always check that. I put the .Class files in the Minecraft.Jar file using winrar and I make sure its for the right version. I delete out the Meta file when prompted but it never works! the game stills runs but its as if nothing was installed.
This was a LEGALLY PURCHASED copied from the minecraft website. I have tried installing many mods and none work. (I always use a fresh . jar whenever I try to install a new one.)
not exactly forge lets you be able to use the mod, you need to install forge and then install the mod, which mods are you trying to install? some are mod-loader compatible and some are forge but most mods are all forge compatible.
sorry i forgot, also to install to many items go to your start menu type %appdata% go to your .minecraft, if you are using 1.5.2 go to your bin folder and right click the minecraft icon select open with winrar if you are using 1.6.2 go to the versions file go to which version you wish to have tomanyitems mod in and right click it then select open with winrar/7-zip next delete your meta-inf folder from your minecraft once you have downloaded to many items mod right click it then click open with winrar/7-zip next type ctr A or highlight everything in the to many items mod then drag it over to the minecraft folder/icon you have opened with your 7-zip/winrar then you have installed to many items mod, congratsulations, if you have anymore questions and run out of postings you can post then add me on skype mark.osgood9 im always available to help.

So use Forge and it will install the mods? I have heard of it.
I know a few he wants is obviously, To many items, Tornado, and I think the Car mod.
