I was playing a map when suddenly the map gave me a potion named "unnamed" and then my game crashed and it said:

Minecraft has crashed!	  
	  ----------------------	  

Minecraft has stopped running because it encountered a problem; Unexpected error

This means that the potion you were given was a potion that usually requires a mod to use, and your game didn't recognize it at first, so it started searching for the potion in your .minecraft folder. When it doesn't find anything, it emergency closes your Minecraft launcher because it detects it as some kind of virus. It's just this kind of security precaution that comes with the launcher, to insure your account doesn't get hacked, etc. Trust me, it's happened to me too.

Maybe the potion was just too powerful for the game at the moment. Try not using that map because they may have edited the code of the potion where it makes it crash ( which I highly doubt they actually did ). Try it again and post if it does it again.

I don't think a potion that goes with a mod would be made with a map file.
