Okay, so i'm new to the minecraft world, I have been trying to download a few mods and have run into numerous issues... I've literally watched countless online tutorials.. Currently I'm trying to download the newest version of the Mo'Creatures mod. I've downloaded and placed the latest version of Forge, and GUI API. It requires I also download Custom mob spawner (which I have), and yes I deleted the META-INF file. Now everything works fine when I extract forge to the minecraft.jar. It extracts it's own META-INF file into minecraft.jar, which im told not to delete that one.. all fine and dandy. I also put the GUI API file into the minecraft.jar. Okay so I open up minecraft and everything works like a charm... But then im told to put the Mo'creatures and Custom Mob Spawner zip file into the Mods folder (located in .minecraft) I do this, I close everything out and open up minecraft. I log in and the MOJANG screen flashes... Followed by a black screen. The black screen does not seem to go away and I am unable to play minecraft unless I move custom mob spawner, and Mo'creatures out of the mods folder... I would really appreciate some help, and as I said before I deleted the META-INF file the first time. So please don't tell me to do that, it didn't work.
Hmm, why do some mod instructions say you have to delete the whole meta-inf folder whereas others say you only need to delete the mojang files in it? I usually delete the whole folder (confused)

I have a similar problem. I have downloaded forge mod loader, it works fine. I downloaded tmi, and it works fine. But whenever I move something into the 'mods' folder I get a black screen, when I take it out, it works great. :L Any idea how to fix this?
I deleted META-INF, and I didn't touch anything. So I have fml and tmi but any mods I have just make me get black screen. D:
Sometimes its because of the mod installation or it just has a problem with the iinstallation.
To Get the black screen off,here are two ways to fix it.
1.Google ''Magic Launcher'' and download the one in the minecraft forums.
2.retry you steps but force update the secont time as your fist step and try your installation second.
