I have had Minecraft for about 3 months, and I got a new laptop 2 days ago, to which I moved my .minecraft directory to, which is decently modded. When I started playing, the game is seemless, with no lag at 120 fps average, which is expected with my laptop specs, but there are points where the game freezes randomly when my computer does something like show a notification. It lasts around 6 seconds, and then goes back to 120 fps. The main problem with my gameplay is that randomly, my world flashes and exposes all caves and lava for up to 30 seconds, which is disturbing because it ruins the fun. I thought I could handle it, but when specific things happen, it triggers this effect. These include:
a large change in lighting (like placing a torch several blocks into a dark cave)
a change in lighting around ten blocks from water.
stepping on a pressure plate, and probably other things in that group of blocks.
breaking blocks (mostly coal in my experience)
I really don't believe that it is the mods, but rather my computer.
I switched texture packs, and I still get the same glitch.
Also, Minecraft runs out of memory pretty often, and I allocated memory to java, but it still happens every so often.
If you need the computer specs to fix this, I will give it.
