so the new version came out with the new wierd launcher, and i'm not understanding how to install mods on this new luancher, couse everything is so different now.
i tried to watch videos on youtube that says how to install mods for the new launcher but when i did what they said (all of them said pretty much the same thing) i got this in my consle:

and the game didnt showed up, and i got rlly frustrated, couse i rlly need my mods, the most importent one is rei's minimap, and i cant get it installed.

if any one can tell me what to do about this, if it can be fixed of not, if yes then how, if not well then damn...

btw: what i did was copying the json file and the jar file from the .minecraft/versions/1.6.2 and make in the versions folder another folder that i called it 1.6.2 modded, and pasted those files in there. i changed the names of the files to 1.6.2 modded as well, then changed in the json file the id to 1.6.2 modded. i dragged the modes that i wanted to the jar file (and deleted the META-INF od course) like i used to do in the old bin file in the last verision. i maked a new profile in the launcher, and called it 1.6.2 modded (it's not even matter what the name of the profile is) i enabled game directory, chosed in the "use version" the version release 1.6.2 modded and maked the profile. after this i got the error that i wrote earlier.

and the game didnt showed up, and i got rlly frustrated, couse i rlly need my mods, the most importent one is rei's minimap, and i cant get it installed.

if any one can tell me what to do about this, if it can be fixed of not, if yes then how, if not well then damn...

btw: what i did was copying the json file and the jar file from the .minecraft/versions/1.6.2 and make in the versions folder another folder that i called it 1.6.2 modded, and pasted those files in there. i changed the names of the files to 1.6.2 modded as well, then changed in the json file the id to 1.6.2 modded. i dragged the modes that i wanted to the jar file (and deleted the META-INF od course) like i used to do in the old bin file in the last verision. i maked a new profile in the launcher, and called it 1.6.2 modded (it's not even matter what the name of the profile is) i enabled game directory, chosed in the "use version" the version release 1.6.2 modded and maked the profile. after this i got the error that i wrote earlier.

What mods were you using? As I have come to find out, this way of adding mods is still unstable, and you have to have great knowledge in what mods are incompatible with what. Some mods don't delete the META folder, some do. It's still an unstable process and while I enjoy being able to make seperate olders for seperate mods, they really should have thought a lot of this through and bringing out updated tutorials and what not before pushing it on everyone.
