I have been trying to get tornado mod on my mac. I've watched a hundred tutorials that all say the same thing. I can't seem to upgrade from 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 either. I've loaded forge and the mod and everything they said right down to deleting both meta-inf files and my mine craft shows as running 1.6.1 with no mods.
Any ideas? I've been working on this for hours to no avail.

Did you download it from MinecraftDL? They sometimes label their things as 1.6.x when they are 1.5.x

So, in effect it's probably a 1.5.2 mod.

So is there a way to revert to 1.5.2 version of mine craft? This is for my 7 year old daughter and she's driving me insane about it. I've already wasted way too much time on it. I'm fairly new to mac products so it's very confusing.

Sure

1. Make sure you have zee new launcher from Mojang's site, open it and click New Profile.

2. Call it whatever you want but then click Use Version : And select release 1.5.2

3. Happy times!

I Can't believe this!! For 10 days I've been working on trying to get mods to work for my daughter. I've watched numerous tutorials, I've tried different versions of mine craft, I've tried magic launcher and nothing seems to work. I paid $30 for this stupid game just so she could have mods.
I don't understand why there is not a plug and play feature. It seems retarded to me that this should be such a freakin' hassle. I wish i could get my money back!!!!!!
