Oh my god... Are there any mods to fix this?!?! This is unreal. I haven't played all summer and to come back to this. What the hell were they thinking? You fanboys that are defending this are completely delusional. It's so annoying having the block stay there for 3 seconds after it's been destroyed. And now, with the horrible new sounds, it sounds like a jarbled mess! I have an amazing cable connection, and a really good computer that can run every game on the pc market, but it sounds like I'm trying to play an ONLINE (ON SINGLEPLAYER.) game with 56k. It's 1.4.2 and it still hasn't been fixed. I doubt it ever will be, because as Mojang has always shown, they don't give a crap about their fanbase. The Notch Defense Force will always claim they do though, and they're right because they have 10,000 posts and constantly moan about the 'h8rz'. Ugh, bringing all this back up reminds me why I left this community/game. [/rant]

Yep, there is. Look for SSP mod in the thread in my signature.

I tried loading a world i made in 1.2.4 and it ing lags even more then the yogscast SOIMP map. someone contact this or i'm gonna have too waist my time on multiplayer with those ing hackers and ing noobs AND THOSE ADMINS that can't get a life! It takes LITERALLY ING 7 minutes too load my world..
I really hate this Lag Issue, 1.2.5 was VERY nice and STABLE. No lag at all, everything working perfect. Updated to 1.3.x and BOOM, Reign of Lagcraft. Everything is just lag, like if it was using internet or being in multiplayer. I would kinda understand mod since they're not Mojang created (talking about mounts mod, like Dragon mount mod) BUT EVEN MINECRARTS? This is unacceptable! Not to mention the mobs are even acting weird, FPS LAG x10. Thank God there is Optifine, at least there is less lag, I would rather play outdated playable fun Minecraft than Lagiest game of all time!

A mod should not be required to make a game playable.
Here is a list of issues I've been having since 1.3.1:
-Block lag. Blocks sometimes don't break instantly, or at all.
-Mob lag. Some mobs like zombies will kill me from more then 4 blocks away, yet while they were attacking I could not reach them. Sometimes I cannot hit them at point blank.
-Redstone freaks out and is slow. Sometimes I cannot generate a quick pulse, or the circuit just locks up. My old zipper elevator is no longer reliable because the circuit will freeze for a split second at random, causing me to fall to my death. Slowing down the speed only band aids the problem, I sometimes fall even with everything at full delay. Minecart tracks also act up but I think it's related to the redstone lagging.

Agree. I still don't know why they ever did that change.

Everyone has these problems. It's just some fanboys that look on everything through pink glasses and say that everything is fine while it obviously isn't. If Mojang will revert this, they will defend that change too.
Of course, there are people who get better performance or whatever. But bugs are still there, and nobody is going to fix them.
Also:
Interesting thing is that both videos have few downvotes.

It can, you just need more computer power in order to stop the lag, or get the 1.2.5 server files and replace the current server files.
(FOUND HERE: http://www.mediafire.com/download/q3590b5w0a972dn/1.2.5+server.rar I didn't make it btw. :P)
Big idiot. Most likely leaving this dead, I hate this username lol
