Okay, so first I use the Forge installer and install Forge. Then, I created a new profile naming it after the version of forge.
After that, I downloaded Magic Launcher to download OptiFine. I pressed setup, changed the environment to the forge version, pressed add, then clicked on the optifine zip, and pressed okay. Then, I logged in.
What happened next?
Nothing. As in, after I logged in, nothing popped up.
What isn't pictured: Minecraft launching
The forge version I used is 10.0.789, because OptiFine Standard said that that is the compatible version.
I'm still waiting for the pop up...
I tried it with a FRESH 1.6 profile (without forge yet) and it worked properly. Well, I think Magic Launcher or Optifine doesn't work well with Forge anymore :/
Did you add the correct advanced parameters? OptiFine now requires Forge's META-INF to be deleted, and Forge won't launch without a parameter being added to tell it to ignore that META-INF is missing.
- Click "Add" -> select the OptiFine ZIP file
- Click "Advanced"
- In the field "Parameters" add "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true"
- Click "OK"

Yeah, I did.
Oh, it's fixed now. I just did the old uninstall, reinstall method. I also had to restart my computer
