I have a 1.5 year old Lenovo B570-1068AHU, which has an Intel i3 2330M Sandy Bridge, which I think it runs at 2.20 Ghz, 8GB RAM, and an Intel HD 3000 Graphics. So what happens is that before I could have minecraft at the fanciest settings (far render distance and fancy graphics, bla bla bla) and it ran super smoothly, no lag, no nothing, but then since I modded it, I decided to test the 1.6.2 version (I have the 1.5.2), and it started to lag, so I decided to return back to normal, and now I can't even have it on normal render distance because it lags horribly no matter in what place I am or what 'em I doing. Also, I found out at the Internet that the new Intel drivers slow down minecraft, but I am not sure if I have installed them, I just know that I have the version 9.17.10.2932, if that is the case, then how do I roll it back, and do you think that the next update will fix that?
