I am unsure where to stick this so I shall ask here. I have been playing my modded 1.5.2 single player and now I have the updated launcher, but my question is since you can have profiles with different versions can I use the 1.5.2 with all its mods that I have still in the .minecraft folder with the new launcher. I tried this but the 1.5.2 that gets loaded does not show nor use any of the mods I have installed. Am I missing something or should I just start hunting for updated everything?
-- I am using the old 1.5.2 launcher for mods, I have not tried this --
If they are entirely minecraft.jar mods (NOT Forge/FML ect)
Create a new profile with the launcher and select the 1.5.2 version
Move your minecraft.jar to the 1.5.2 profile folder, replacing the 1.5.2.jar
.minecraft/versions/1.5.2
Rename both files (minecraft.jar and 1.5.2.json) to 1.5.2
If they have files outside of the minecraft.jar (Forge/FML ect)
I dont think there is any way to make these work how you want it. Use old launcher or update mods to 1.6.x
To use mod in 1.5.2 with the new launcher is the exact same as 1.6.x
You just copy and paste a 1.5.2 and then mod that. Watch my video.
If you are wondering how to find that 1.5.2 folder, simply go into the launcher and make a new profile with release 1.5.2 and then follow the video's instructions.
Ooh, and as for forge, you cannot use 1.5.2 mods in the new launcher. Just sit back and wait 'til the mods update

I don't want to start a new topic; this looks like the closest match for my question.
Issue: I have three versions of minecraft (MC1.5.2 modded, MC1.6.2 unmodded, MC1.6.2 modded)
Version MC1.5.2 moded has mo'creatures, reiminimap, invtweaks, and several others (all 1.5.2 mods) - all forge supported and installed in the mods folder
Version MC 1.6.2 unmodded - I don't want any mods to load
Version MC 1.6.2 has reiminimap and invtweaks (both for 1.6.2) - all forge supported and installed in the mods folder
With the 1.6 MC launcher there are folders for each of the versions. Should there be a separate place for the mods for different versions or do they all go in the same .minecraft/mods folder?
Will different version mods work side-by-side in the same mods folder? (Example: I launch version 1.5.2 and all of its supported mods get loaded, then I launch version 1.6.2 and all of its supported mods get loaded.)
I feel like this issue is important for every mod whether it supports forge or modloader.
Currently I have all of this working using separate minecraft folders in a different location, however, it seems like I should be able to install everything into the default .minecraft folder too - just not sure how to go about doing that.
Thanks
