The only mods I use for Minecraft are Timbr Mod and Modloader (because that is required for Timbr). These do not work at all now, even when I followed some tutorials on how to mod mc after the 1.6.1/.2 update. It keeps doing this, and nothing happens:
Still can't get things to work :/. Tried installing Optifine viaskydaz's install. Worked like a charm. Then I tried installing Timber mod AND TreeCapitator and they don't work. I can't seem to install Forge to the Optifine launcher like the directions say.
Edit: Alright. I can get Optfine to work. I can get Timber mod to work. And I can get TreeCapitator to work. Problem is, I can only choose to use one of them. If I try installing Timber to the 1.6.2 Optifine launcher, it won't work.
Edit #2: Alright I finally got Optifine, Forge and Timber mod to all work. It took me an hour to download stuff and follow instructions, but it payed off. I wish it wasn't so complicated :/
Go to bin and delete minecraft.jar and get digiex minecraft launcher and download the latest version of beta it will appear in the bottom of the screen. Once you did it start things up and get The Minemore minecraft mod no forge or modloader required.

Afaik there is a new modding method required, you should read up, or try skydaz's website, for installers.
