Sorry for bothering all, but I couldn't find anything that seems to address this problem. My search-fu is weak.
So, when I load my world up it only loads the chunk I'm in and 1 more in an L shape. Mobs/entities are frozen, blocks appear to break but do not drop anything. I cannot open chests, furnaces, etc. My inventory interacts normally, I can move around, NEI seems to be working, and the sky progresses from day to night normally. Redstone engine animations work.
Everything is there in MC edit, I can move my position that way but get the same issue in neighboring chunks. further chunks freeze on building terrain. Attempting to exit freezes on shutting down internal server. I have to end task minecraft to close it. this happened a few times, but exiting and ending task always fixed it before.
Minecraft version 1.4.7 , mods are Tekkit 0.6.5, Thaumcraft 3.0.3, bounding boxes for 1.4.6, custom mob spawner 1.10, mocreatures 4.5.1, showmonsters 3.2.146, GUI API.
Thanks for any help/ideas.
edit: now it won't load at all, it just says loading world and shutting down internal server both at the same time.
Well, after some fiddling with MC edit, backups, and making a copy of the world seed, I seem to have found the problem. I somehow built a world-corrupting machine. If I can figure out how to post images I'll include a picture.
Basically, it's centered around a factorization mixer running on an old steam engine from before I updated. It has a hopper dropping water buckets in, a wooden pipe pulling finished products out, and a pair of thaumcraft golems running buckets back and forth from a deployer water filling station and the mixer.
I'll be trying to change around my power system next, but if anyone has any feedback that would be helpful. Even if it's just that they have no problems with a similar system. or, you know, call me an idiot for making such a rube goldberg mashup machine. I know which one I'm doing right now.
edit: Issue was caused by not pulling things out of my mixer fast enough. Ended p with empty buckets gumming it up. I reduced the number of buckets and upgraded to a filter to pull finished items out faster. i figured I'd update here in case anyone has the same issue and comes across this thread.
I have the same issue, although I have installed only optifine. Running my world with mcedit tells me that a lot of the chunks in my world got swapped out. Also the launcher tells me that the 2 chunk problem is caused by the "wrong location bat" that is in a chunk that is completely missing. Trying to delete the missing chunk ended up as a failure. What should I do?
