My friend and I put together a great modded client, and shared it so we had identical clients.
Then we were going to play a LAN world together, but lo and behold it won't work.
This is supremely irritating!
The mods don't conflict with LAN at all because we tried it on vanilla clients and it still didn't work.
(And yes, we were connected to the same wifi)
He was able to discover the LAN world in his server list, but when he tried to join it basically loaded for a long time then said connection timed out.
We've tried Hamachi, and everything. Nothing seems to work!
Internal SP LAN worlds can't handle modded clients from another connection. You'll have to download the server client and add the mods to it there, if you wish to use those mods installed on your client.
No, we're using the same clients with all the same mods installed. What's the problem?

That method has been mentioned at least a dozen times in this thread and I've already said that it didn't work for me.
