I just installed optifine for 1.6.2, but all the block and item textures are purple and black! Please help! this happens when i use any texture pack!

I got the same thing. I'm just gonna wait until it's closer to finished (it did say it was a "preview" version for 1.6.2, still.)

Does this happen when using the default texture pack? If not, then it means you are using outdated texture packs.

Edit: Oh, well in that case disregard my advice. It wasn't happening to me, so I haven't got a clue.

If you are having a problem with a mod, post in the mod thread or post in the Modded Client Support.

If you read the mod thread carefully, it is a known serious bug that may show all blocks being purple along with non working mipmaps, AA/AF, or animation options.
Please wait for a more stable release of the mod as this one is just a "preview".

Same problem here, also optifine ain't really making the FPS faster, it's the same speed or slower (FPS 8 - 6)
