Can anyone help me? After I installed a few mods in 1.6.1 all the text in english got jacked up and the only way to fix it is to delete the entire .minecraft folder, cause just updating doesn't seem to fix it. I guess the way to explain it is, the spacing is all messed up, there are random cuts, letter misplacement and stuff like that

Try Restarting Minecraft For An Hour Then Backup Your .minecraft and reload it

Do you have any resource packs installed? If so, switch back to the default resource pack, restart minecraft, and re-select your resource pack.
