In Minecraft 1.5.2 I was doing really good and I was a great modder, but as soon as I got 1.6 update, I don't know how to install Minecraft Forge or any mods, any help is appreciated!
Well,if you're modding for 1.6 I can help ya with that.
1.Run the new MC launcher.(BTW THIS IS NOT FOR MAC!)
2.Go to your start menu and type in %appdata% AND press enter on your keyboard.
3. Double click your .minecraft folder (should be on the top) and delete bin.
4. Go to your version folder and there should be 2 folders 1.5.2 and 1.6.1. 5. if you are modding for 1.5.2 (1.6 is the same)copy the 1.5.2 folder and paste it.
5. Rename it.(You have to rename it or it won't work).(Rename it whatever you want.)
6.Go in to the folder and rename the jar folder and json file (and probably the natives file)The same thing as the folder. (Ex.My jar and json are named the same as the folder but my natives folder is like this:1.6.1 Testing-natives).(Extensions do not matter.)
7. Double click the json file and select ''Select a from a list of installed programs.
8. Open with notepad.
9. Look for ''id at top and type in the name of the folder.
10. Open the .jar folder with WinRAR or 7-zip.
11. Drag your mods in and delete META-INF. (Install modsone by one by one.)(Run Mc after installing one mod and repeat)
12.Next open up your launcher. Find the button ''New Profile'' and enter whatever you want.
13.Check in game directory and Find ''use version'' and click the name of your file that you used to mod.
14.Click ''Save Profile'' and log in!
