Recently Rei's Minimap has been glitching out pretty hard for me. I decided to post here rather than the Rei's minimap thread because, since the traffic on such a popular mod is so high, I feel like the problem wouldn't be seen. Anyway, the issue is that whenever I view the Large Map on Rei's Minimap, it starts to glitch out and it's much smaller than It's supposed to be. Here is a screenshot showing the problem:
I searched pretty extensively to find the problem, and noticed that someone else was experiencing it, but I couldn't find a solution so I reposted. It may be a problem with conflicting mods, but I don't think so because I uninstalled everything except modloader and the minimap mod (modloader is required) and I was still experiencing the glitch. I have a screenshot of my .jar config:
Any help that I can get on this would be greatly appreciated, because I know almost nothing about modding so I can't solve it myself.

some multiplayer servers send fewer chunks than others, ie only really near ones. That is, not enough to fill up the entire minimap. Rei's IIRC has an issue where areas of the map that are blank don't get refreshed, so sttuff gets drawn and if no new stuff gets drawn there you still see the old stuff. Like switch to round map, and when you first login to a server turn. You'll see that same effect around the edges until it fills in
If it's not SMP I wouldn't know why it's displaying a limited swathe of terrain, but the smallness leads directly to the glitchiness around the edges
As MamiyaOtaru indicated, this "bug" isn't really a bug in the minimap. It is due to the fact that the minimap expects to have access to a set of chunks of a certain size/radius. Some servers limit the number of chunks and/or the radius for which chunks can be loaded, in order to solve performance issues with their server.
When the server limits the number of chunks, those "outer" areas can't be rendered in the map, because the Minimap doesn't have any data to use. The server isn't allowing it.
That being said, the minimap *could* be patched to handle this situation gracefully, and render those regions transparently, so you don't see the effect you are seeing.

I already did try removing optifine, but it still had the same error.
