Around November I installed Feed The Beast and a few of it's modpacks. I was a aware that some of the mod packs were not compatible with Optifine, so I figured if I ever wanted Optifine back all I'd have to do is stop using the mod packs. I did that and installed Optifine only to find that it didn't work (this is on the Minecraft 1.6 pre-release launcher, not the old one or the FTB launcher). I double checked I deleted the META.INF folder, I tried another version of Optifine, I deleted the ftblauncher and .minecraft folders. Nothing worked. So now I'm stuck and need your help.
I'm also looking for auto/semi-auto farming ideas, so if you've got any feel free to share them too :3
Were you using the 1.5.1 version of Optifine for the 1.5.1 update? Make sure the versions match.
Well wouldn't that be silly. Ofcourse I was :3 When I installed the Optifine for 1.6, the desc. kind of implied that it was compatible with 1.5.2 and 1.6.
Well I was making sure, because currently Optifine is for 1.5.2. Try force updating your vanilla client, go into your minecraft.jar and remove the META-INF and move the contents of Optifine in, all in that order. Force updating will definitely force an entire vanilla client into your .minecraft regardless if it was modded or not.

Done that with 1.5.1. and 1.6. The problems seems to be the FTB contents interfering. I don't know how, which is why I'm here. Optifine was running brilliantly before I installed FTB.

Right, I forgot to mention I tried this process in 1.5.1 too.
